The Educational Benefits of an Outdoor Kid’s Playhouse

Among the many benefits of an outdoor kid’s playhouse, that which many parents fail to appreciate is connected to their education. In fact, the educational benefits of an outdoor kid’s playhouse are possibly more important than the social benefits and those connected with their physical development.

Most children would rather play than do schoolwork, particularly the younger children. To take that further, even more would rather play in an outdoor playhouse than do their homework, and you might even hesitate installing an outdoor wooden playhouse for your child just for that reason. However, are you sure you know your kids well enough to make that assumption?

The Outdoor Playhouse Learning Environment

In fact, if you did build or purchase a kid’s playhouse in your backyard, and furnished it with some chairs and table, you might be pleasantly surprised. Your children love being outdoors, and paradoxically probably love even more being inside their own outdoor playhouse. Even though they are inside a playhouse they still look upon it as being outside, if you get the drift, and so how do you think they would react to doing their homework in an environment they love without the stress of being inside when their friends are outside playing?

Statistics show that they will love it. Your kids will love doing their homework in their own kid’s ‘school’ playhouse, and might even play at one being the teacher and the others the pupils while do their homework. Once the schoolwork is over, the playhouse turns into a castle, a doll’s house or a witch’s house. However, the important factor is that for the time needed, it was their own schoolroom and their homework got done. Not rushed, but completed properly!

The school has been taken out of their schooling, so it is a unique way of them doing their homework. They can do it at their own table and chair, they can use the playhouse loft area or even lie on a beanbag by an open window. They can use their imagination as they do in their play, because in a certain way, doing homework in their outdoor playhouse is a form of play.

A Rewarding Experience

You can design a form of rewarding your son or daughter, such as each homework hour could be rewarded with an extra hour playing in the playhouse. Or perhaps two hours of play for each hour of homework? Maybe they can save up the hours earned for a whole day in their outdoor playhouse some weekend. That is one way of teaching your child time management and responsibility.

Nevertheless, even if you don’t apply any reward scheme, your children will love using a kid’s playhouse for their homework. It appears so adult to them, doing their own work in their own small house just like mummy and daddy do, and a kid’s playhouse can provide you with many benefits connected with your children’s development.

Apart from the social benefits in learning how to get along with other children and share tasks, there are the educational benefits. These are not just connected with the fact that the homework actually gets done properly, and not rushed just before teatime or bedtime.

An appreciation of how to use their time properly is a definite benefit, and so is the concept of work bringing rewards. These concepts will help throughout their entire time in education, from junior school, through high school to university or college. If your children can develop from an early age the concepts of the importance of focusing their study during quiet time and of the rewards that such study bring, then they will be a good foundation for their future, and you will have done well as a parent.

It is amazing how varied the benefits of a kid’s outdoor playhouse can be, and by installing a wooden playhouse in your backyard you will not only make your kids love you for it, but will also be laying the foundation for a sound academic future.

Benefits and Importance of Preschool Education for Kids

Preschool is where the child for the first time gets to step out of the comfort zone. This is when for the first time they have to stay away from their parents. A preschool is designed to make the children ready for the future. A playschool should be a place where the child feels like home. There are several preschool activities that help in making the children feel secure and be comfortable.

The preschool is the place where the children learn to make friends and communicate easily with people. It helps in developing the child’s foundation that will help the child to succeed in life. Children who have attended preschool are seen to have better self-confidence. The preschool learning activities help in improving the child’s social skill and get better grades.

Preschool provides an opportunity to the kids to learn in a playful environment. Let’s have a look at all the benefits of preschool education for the kids.

Provides a good head start to the children for Kindergarten –

kindergarten is where the child learns the basics. Children here are taught in a fun way through preschool worksheets that aid in learning as well as their development.

Children get to develop their social and communication skills –

The kids get to interact with children of their age and with the teachers in a structured environment. The kids learn to make friends and play with them.

Provides the opportunity to the children to take care of themselves –

Children get to learn the importance of time and the things that should be done on time. Children are taught how to wash their hands, keep their toys in a proper place after playing. In some schools, children are toilet trained too.

Provides an opportunity for advancement –

preschool provides the children the opportunity to learn to follow instructions and even learn to share. The teachers help the children in understanding what they will learn in kindergarten with the help of kindergarten worksheets.

Helps in development of literacy and mathematical skills –

Young children are very observant and curious. By encouraging children to sing an alphabet song or by playing counting and matching games with the children you can boost a child’s mathematical and literacy skills. Preschools engage the children in such activities that will help them learn and grow. Providing activities for kids, will help in challenging a child’s mind and wrack their brains to get the answers.

Preschool provides the children to enhance their motor skills –

Several activities performed by the children under the supervision of teachers help in the development of a child’s fine motor and gross motor skills. Children are encouraged to run, play games or climb. Children are also taught to balance and are even asked to thread beads that help in hand-eye coordination.

Preschools make sure that your child is making friends and enjoying all the fun activities that will aid in their social, emotional and personal growth. Preschools will help in providing a way in which the child will be able to learn what he or she is going to learn in future. For instance, by providing worksheets for kids, the child will get an idea of what will be taught in future in a fun way.

Get Your Child Future Ready With Pre School Education

As parents, you always want to give the best education and guidance to your kids. Most of us are ready to spend a lot on our children’s education because we want to prepare them for the big challenges in life. Education is not just about reading a few books and clearing the exams with outstanding grades; real edification is far beyond that. Rather, it’s a constant process that starts from their infancy itself. Therefore, it’s worth investing a lot of time and energy in searching the best pre school around. Remember, children are like blooming buds; you need to nurture them in the right way so they bloom into beautiful flowers.

For parents whose kids who are too young or immature to get enrolled in elementary schools, pre schools are an excellent thing to opt for. Nevertheless, settling on a pre school program that suits your baby is a daunting task. After all, this is the place where you’ll leave your kid while you’re out at work. It’s important to choose the best children’s nursery that suits you as well as your infant. That way, you’ll be able to experience complete peace of mind. If you leave your kid in a place that’s safe and comfortable, you can easily concentrate on your work and focus on your self-development. The trained instructors at these pre school institutions make sure that your child receives the necessary social skills and gets ready for elementary school or kindergarten once he/she is mature enough.

If you think that a pre school is just like any other regular school, then you’re certainly mistaken. It has nothing to do with books and tests; your child stays busy in different activities, including games, sports, recitation, singing, dancing and so on. He may also learn simple mathematical skills in an interactive way; he’ll also learn the names of different colors as he draws or paints. The main aim is to make your child smart and intelligent enough to face the real world. At pre schools, this takes place in a fun and engaging way. Go for a play school that’s varied, engaging and challenging for your kid.

Nowadays, play schools often use a specific and modern method of training. Quite often, you’ll come across terms like progressive, traditional and Montessori to illustrate the institution’s approach towards teaching. Debatably, the most well-known ones use the most traditional modes of education. In order to avail the best services from a Montessori school, consider going for the ones that have a modern approach towards kids’ education.

It concludes that the module is a major contribution to the information superhighway.IntroductionThe aim of this article is to introduce to the world the educational solutions module of the world’s most recent personal and professional problem solving site. The article is addressed to those readers who may have an educational problem bogging them and who may therefore be looking for a way out of their predicament. The reader may be a parent, child, or student. It is a common fact of life that we all have problems and that we are often frustrated or we tend to lash out because of our inability to find accessible and reliable information about our problems. This specialist site fills this need – as our pragmatic friend for solving our educational problems. To be of the greatest use to people a problem solving site must combine pragmatic discussions of their personal or professional problem with merchant products that provide more detailed information. Typically, the web site will provide free information in the form of news, articles, and advice, which direct the visitor on what to do to solve her problems. Complementing this, the web site will also provide merchant products which discuss in detail how the visitor can go about resolving her problem. This means that the most effective, visitor-oriented problem-solving site will be an information-packed commercial site – and so is the world’s most recent personal and professional problem solving site and its specialist sites. The approach that we have adopted below is to describe competitive offerings, the customer profile, problem-oriented solutions, target markets, product offerings, and usability features.Competitive OfferingsThe following are the top educational sites on the Internet, along with their offerings.US Department of Education. It defines the US education policy and provides information on financial aid, educational research and statistics, grants and contracts, and teaching and learning resources.Educational Testing Service. It provides a range of test resources.FunBrain.com. It provides educational games for K-8 kids.PrimaryGames.com. It provides fun learning tools and games for kids.GEM. It is a UK government department site that offers information and advice on various educational and skills topics.Times Educational Supplement. It offers teaching news, teaching & educational resources, and active forums to help UK teachers.
All these sites are useful in the domains that they cover. Their main limitations are as follows:1. They tend to cover only a very narrow segment of the educational market.
2. They do not take as their starting point the daily educational needs of the typical family.
3. They lack a problem focus; i.e., they do not formulate the typical learning and educational problems that pupils, students, and parents face on a daily basis.
4. As a result of the preceding point, the solutions offered are not as incisive (i.e. as problem-centred) as they could be.
5. They do not offer merchant products that deepen the visitor’s understanding of her problem and of the consequent solutions. The educational solutions module of the world’s most recent personal and professional problem solving site addresses these problems by targeting a multiplicity of market segments, adopting a customer profile that fits the typical education-pursuing family, considering the specific needs or problems that this family may face, offering incisive (problem-centred) solutions to the various problems, and offering a range of merchant products that deepen the visitor’s appreciation of her problems and of the solutions that are applicable to them.Customer ProfileThe customer profile or target visitor characteristics of the educational solutions module is the same as for all specialist sites of the world’s most recent personal and professional problem solving site. The site has been designed to meet the needs of visitors who have an educational problem bogging them. It is designed for both males and females, even though it is often convenient to refer to just one sex when writing. This visitor uses search engines to research information about her personal or professional problem, with the intention of finding solutions to it. The visitor is serious about solving her problem and is therefore willing to buy products that help her to achieve her mission, provided that she can find reliable and honest information about relevant products so that she can make an informed decision about which ones to acquire. This information will help her to apply her finances economically, and hence avoid wasting money. The visitor will want a money-back guarantee so that if a product does not live up to expectations or if she were misled into buying a product she can get a refund. Such a guarantee absolves her of purchase risks. The visitor is intelligent (without necessarily being a genius), educated (without necessarily being a PhD), computer literate (without necessarily being a computer guru), and money-minded (without necessarily being a freebie hunter or an unemployed person). This of course does not mean that freebie hunters or unemployed persons cannot gain a thing from the site. To the contrary, there is a great deal of free information on the site. Just that it is hard to see how anyone can gain the full benefits of the site without buying products. The visitor wants high quality information products (usually in digital form) and wants to pay the cheapest price for these (without paying so much emphasis on price that she compromises quality). The visitor also wants free bonus offers that are attached to the purchased goods. The visitor is self-reliant and can cope on her own by reading, digesting, and applying advice about her problem until she solves it or discovers that she needs help from a professional, at which point her acquired knowledge will help her to reduce her consulting fees. As a result of the knowledge gained, the visitor will be able to assess consultants in order to avoid incompetent or fraudulent ones.Problem-Centred SolutionsOur free solutions are organised in the form of pragmatic articles that are written by top experts. Each article addresses a specific daily problem, but does not go into detail. It explains the problem and tells the visitor what she must do to solve her problem. However, it does not tell the visitor how she must solve it – this is too much for an article. To find out about the how, the visitor must buy a product (usually an e-book or e-book set) that goes into greater depth. The set of educational articles that we have chosen, to provide initial solution to a visitor’s problem are as follows:Signs of a Gifted Child – Informs parents on how to identify whether or not their children are gifted.Essential Parenting Lessons for Enriching Your Child’s Education – Teaches parents how to enhance their child’s education.Using Positive Affirmations to Be a Better Student – Teaches students how to use positive affirmations to improve their performance. They Are Just Afraid of Writing – Teaches writing skills to studentsHow Can Parents Encourage Their Children to Read? – Shows parents how they can improve their children’s reading skills.Test Preparation Tutoring – Discusses the topic of tutoring students to prepare for tests or exams.Test Taking Strategies – Discusses various strategies for taking and passing tests or examsPlaying and Winning the Scholarship Game – Describes how to win scholarships. How to Get a Scholarship to a UK University – Describes how to win scholarships to a UK university.Saving Money for College – Instructs students on how they can save money in preparation for college.Student Loans: When Your Educational Dreams Can’t Compete with the Cost – Explains to students the benefits of a student loan.Education Loans Can Fund a Higher Degree to Boost Your Career – Also explains to students the benefits of a student loan. The Secret to US Department of Education Loans – Teaches students how to get a US DoE loan to finance their higher education.Student Loan Consolidation – Save Money, Pay Less, Spend More – Explains to graduates how to make use of loan consolidation to reduce their student loan repayments.Higher Education: Finding the Right College for You – Explains to students how to find the right college or university for their higher education studies.Mobile Learning – An Alternative Worth Considering – Explains the concept of mobile learning and its place in education.Online Degrees – Is Online Education Right for You? – Analyses the merits of online learning as compared to traditional learning. An Online College Education Overview – Reviews the whole concept of online learning.Finding the Right Quotation for Your Paper or Speech Online – Shows writers and speakers how to find the right quotation to use in their writings or speeches.Collaboration: An Important Leadership Development Skill – Explores the useful concept of collaboration and its role in leadership development. At the end of each article is a list of merchant products that supplement the article’s content. Hate Khori: A Ceremony to Introduce Education to Kids

Vasant Panchami or Saraswati puja is a festival that is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the Hindu god of knowledge, art, music and learning. She is the daughter of Durga and is considered as a partner to Brahma. This is the most popular festival in the eastern region and is celebrated in the month of Magh (January-February) where young children and students invoke the blessings of the Goddess. The Goddess is presented as a graceful woman in white, wearing a white silk sari, seated on a white lotus and representing purity and peace. The lotus and the moon associated with her are both symbols of eternal womanhood.

Mythological story

There are various mythological stories associated with Goddess Saraswati. Both the gods and demons decided to churn the ocean and drink the Amrit or the elixir of life. Saraswati with her beauty decided to lure the asuras, but Rahu and ketu slipped in with the Gods. Vishnu detected them and cut off their heads. Saraswati helped the Gods to be immortal and was established in the heavens.

Hate Khori celebration in West Bengal

Saraswati puja holds a special place in the Bengali culture and at almost in every educational organization and even at home this puja is performed. On this day, devotees take a bath early in the morning and wear new clothes and adorn the deity with white clothes and flowers, as it is believed to be her favorite color. The sweets used in Prasad are also made of milk and white sesame seeds or til laddos are offered. Yellow flowers or marigold is offered to the goddess.

Hate Khori is a popular celebration in West Bengal where little children of the age of three or four are made to perform a ritual of writing the first letters of the alphabet. They are made to take a bath after using turmeric paste and then little boys are made to wear Dhoti and Kurta and the girls are made to wear Saree, especially yellow in color. New black slate, chalk and books and copies are purchased for the Hate Khori ceremony and the pandit performs the ritual. Little kids are made to sit on the lap of the pandit who hold their hands and make them write the first letters mainly, OM or A, B, C and or some Bengali alphabets like “K-a”, “Kh-a”.

To perform this Hate Khori ritual, people usually go to the nearby temples where the pandit performs the ritual or it is arranged at home where the pandit or Brahmin comes and performs the Saraswati puja and the Hate Khori ritual. Since the puja holds special significance among Bengalis and is considered an auspicious day to start anything related to learning, people try to introduce young children to the world of education on that special day.

Formal education is started from this day and children seek blessings of the Goddess of knowledge and wisdom. Young girls wear yellow saree and offer pushpanjali to the god. Palash flowers, Khichuri, mixed vegetables and Kul chutney are some of the special dishes that are prepared during this celebration.
